Labor Day 2026: The 15 Fragrances Our Customers Bought Most This Summer (And What They Signal for Your Q4)

Labor Day 2026: The 15 Fragrances Our Customers Bought Most This Summer (And What They Signal for Your Q4)

Reading Time: 11 min | Category: Business Strategy | Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Our trailing 90-day best-seller list, read as a stocking guide.

Key Takeaways

  • Uomo Born In Roma by Valentino is our number one seller — it outsold every other men’s fragrance over the last 90 days, and its women’s counterpart landed in our top ten. Stock the pair.
  • Four of our top 15 moved as testers — same fragrance, same concentration, same size, minimal packaging. Testers are the cheapest way to put a high-retail bottle on your shelf.
  • Three of our top 15 are 3-piece gift sets — in August. Gift-set demand builds months before anyone calls it gift season, and availability is best right now.
  • The list breaks down to five men’s, five women’s, three sets and two prestige bottles — that ratio works as an opening stock plan for a table, a shop, or an online storefront.
  • Labor Day weekend is the last clean selling window before Q4 — what moves for you this weekend is what you reorder in October.

Labor Day weekend is the last clean selling window before the fourth quarter. Back-to-school money is still moving, holiday spending hasn’t started, and the customer who has been wanting a particular bottle since June finally buys it.

We’ve been supplying fragrance out of the DTLA Fashion District since 2000, and that weekend tells us most of what the next four months look like. So here is what our customers actually bought over the last 90 days — our 15 best sellers, ranked, grouped by who they’re for.

Read it as a stocking guide. This is our own real world sell-through: the bottles that left our shelves fastest this summer, in the city that sets the pace for most of them.

What Our Customers Bought Most: Men’s

1. Uomo Born In Roma by Valentino — 3.4 oz EDT

Our single best-selling men’s fragrance, and the gap between it and number two is wide. Ginger and bergamot up top, vetiver and cashmere wood underneath. Sharp enough for a night out, easy enough for a Tuesday.

For resellers, that versatility is what drives the reorder. A bottle someone wears daily comes back for a second purchase inside three months. A statement scent might not come back at all.

2. 1 Million by Paco Rabanne — 3.4 oz EDT

Blood mandarin and mint on top, cinnamon and spice through the heart, leather and amber at the base. The gold bar has been on wish lists since 2008 and it still moves at volume.

This is the first bottle a new reseller should carry. It requires zero education — customers walk up and ask for it by the shape of the bottle.

3. Eros by Versace — 3.4 oz EDT

Eros 3.4 EDT and Eros 3.4 EDT Tester

Eros appears twice in our top 15, as a full-size bottle and as a tester. That tells you how much of it moves. Mint, green apple and lemon over tonka bean and vanilla, finished with cedar and vetiver.

Carrying both formats lets you serve two price points with one fragrance: the full presentation for gift buyers, the tester for the customer who only cares what’s in the bottle.

4. Sauvage by Christian Dior — 3.4 oz EDP

The EDP runs deeper and lasts longer than the EDT, and the EDP is the version our customers ask for by name. Bergamot leads, ambroxan anchors, vanilla warms the dry-down.

The most recognizable men’s fragrance in the world is also the one your customers price-check hardest. Buy it right and it becomes your credibility item — the bottle that proves the rest of your prices are fair.

5. Coach for Men — 3.4 oz EDT

Pear and cardamom up top, suede and vetiver at the base. Fresh, clean, and priced low enough to be an impulse buy.

Every table needs a designer name under the psychological price line. This is that bottle, and it doesn’t smell like a compromise.

What Our Customers Bought Most: Women’s

6. Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana — 3.4 oz EDT

Light Blue 3.4 EDT and Light Blue Tester

Sicilian lemon and apple, bamboo and white rose, cedar and musk. One of the most-bought women’s fragrances in the country and one of the steadiest sellers we carry.

Citrus-forward and unmistakably summer, and it keeps selling well past Labor Day. Most citrus scents have a season. This one doesn’t, which makes it a safe year-round line item.

7. Bright Crystal by Versace — 3.0 oz EDT

Bright Crystal 3.0 EDT and Bright Crystal Tester

Like Eros, Bright Crystal lands in our top 15 in both full-size and tester. Pomegranate and yuzu, then peony, magnolia and lotus, over musk and amber.

Floral, light, and it lasts. It’s the safest recommendation you can hand a customer who is buying for someone else and doesn’t know their taste.

8. Born In Roma by Valentino for Women — 3.4 oz EDP

The counterpart to our number one men’s seller. Blackcurrant and jasmine over vanilla and bourbon, in an EDP concentration that holds through a full day.

Shelve it next to the men’s. Couples and households buy the pair, and the second bottle sells itself once both are sitting side by side.

9. Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent — 3.0 oz EDP

Coffee and pink pepper, orange blossom and jasmine, vanilla and cedar. It has held a top-ten position in women’s fragrance for years because the formula earns it.

The EDP concentration is your selling point. When a customer tells you a fragrance disappears on her skin, this is the bottle you reach for.

10. Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs — 4.2 oz EDT

Raspberry, grapefruit and pear over violet and jasmine, finished with plum and musk. Playful, easy to wear daily, and a 4.2 oz bottle at this price is a lot of juice.

Bottle size is the easiest value story there is. Display it beside a 1.7 oz at a similar price and the customer makes the decision without you.

Gift Sets: The Q4 Signal Hiding in August

Three of our top 15 sellers are 3-piece gift sets. In August. That is worth sitting with for a second.

Gift-set demand starts building in late summer, months before anyone calls it gift season. The resellers who see that pattern buy their sets now, while every SKU is still available. The ones who wait until November buy whatever is left over.

Our sets pair the fragrance with complementary products — usually a body wash and a balm or lotion — and still land below what a department store charges for the bottle by itself. For you that means a higher ticket without a harder sell. The set makes the gift argument on its own.

11. Eros by Versace — 3.4 oz EDT 3-Piece Gift Set

Already a top-15 seller as a single bottle. The set adds body wash and aftershave balm, and it removes the wrapping objection entirely.

12. Bad Boy by Carolina Herrera — 3.4 oz EDT 3-Piece Gift Set

Bergamot and black pepper up top, sage and cedar in the heart, cacao and tonka underneath. The lightning-bolt bottle does most of the merchandising for you — put it at eye level and it stops people walking past.

13. K by Dolce & Gabbana — 3.4 oz EDT 3-Piece Gift Set

Blood orange and lemon, lavender and geranium, cedar and vetiver. Clean and aromatic, which makes it the set to hand the customer who says he doesn’t like anything strong.

Building bundles around these sets? Our smellmaxxing post covers how layering customers buy in twos and threes, and how to price a stack so the bundle beats a single-bottle sale.

The Niche and Prestige Tier: Where Your Basket Size Grows

Two bottles in our top 15 sit above the designer tier. They’re there because a real segment of our customers has already smelled everything mainstream and wants more complexity and a longer development on skin.

Carrying one or two prestige bottles changes how your entire table reads. A customer who spots a Creed on your shelf treats everything next to it as more credible. And the customer who buys one spends more in a single transaction than several designer sales combined.

14. Aventus by Creed — 3.4 oz EDP Tester

Pineapple, blackcurrant, apple and bergamot open it. Birch, patchouli and musk carry it. Oakmoss and ambergris close it out. Creed is the benchmark for luxury niche fragrance and Aventus is the most-discussed bottle in the category.

At boutique retail it’s a serious investment. As a tester it becomes reachable, and that price difference is the entire reason it sells at the volume it does for us.

15. Le Gemme Tygar Extrait by Bvlgari — 2.0 oz Unisex

From Le Gemme, Bvlgari’s top tier. Tygar is saffron-forward, in extrait de parfum concentration, built for presence at close range rather than volume across a room.

This is the bottle for the customer who already owns the designer classics. One of these on your shelf tells that customer you know the category well enough to sell to them.

The Tester Play: Same Juice, Lower Cost

Four of our top 15 moved as testers. If you aren’t carrying them yet, this is the fastest margin improvement available to you before Labor Day weekend.

A tester is the same fragrance, the same concentration, and the same bottle size. Brands produce them for retail counters to use as display and sampling bottles, so they ship with the cap separate or sometimes without the cap, in a plain white or brown box, sometimes with no box at all. The formula inside is identical to the retail version — same ingredients, same batch, same result on skin.

Because the packaging costs less to produce, your cost per unit is lower. That is the whole mechanism.

The only thing between you and that margin is customer hesitation, and one sentence handles it. When a customer asks why the price is lower:

“It’s the exact same fragrance and the exact same size. Testers are what the store uses at the counter, so they come without the fancy box. You’re paying for the perfume instead of the packaging.”

Label every tester clearly, price it visibly below the boxed version, and let the comparison do the work. On a bottle like Aventus, where boxed retail is already high, that gap is what closes the sale.

Our current tester movers are Eros by Versace, Aventus by Creed, Bright Crystal by Versace and Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana — four of the fifteen bottles on this list.

What to Do With This List Before the Weekend

1. Cover the ratio. Five men’s, five women’s, three sets and two prestige bottles is a working opening plan. If you’re starting from nothing, buy in that shape rather than going deep on one gender.

2. Buy your gift sets now. Set availability is at its best in August and thinnest in November. Every set you place this month is inventory you’re not chasing during the holiday rush.

3. Add a tester to your top three sellers. Same juice, lower cost, better margin, and a second price point on a fragrance your customers already want.
